For hardware stability, Super Slim is best since it is newer, smaller chipset and manual disc tray. However, you should really consider a slim one, since more models of that can have CFW. Especially with the ps3 store closing down soon, it may be better to have full control of the PS3 software.
Well, having an actual PS2 and/or PS3 is better than paying for PS plus premium and the PS3 controller almost has the same design as the PS2 aside from the triggers and the analog button, which is replaced by the PlayStation button and if I want to play PS2 games legally, I would go for the slim since it doesnât take up that much space
Ideally 68 and under is good depending on what your ps3 can handle. A lot of that is going to come down to if you have performed proper maintenance on them or not, such as changing the thermal paste, swapping out thermal pads, etc. I have a slim that I keep as low as 60 and the fan doesn't go nuts, cause I've done the above maintenance as well

Trophy Points: 172. 25xx is the only good choice here if you're aiming for CFW, 'cause if not, any 4xxx kicks every PS3 model's ass on the battlefield of performance. I'm planning on buying a PS3 in the upcoming weeks/months. Collection-wise, I know that a PS3 Fat is better but I'm already decided on buying either a Slim or a SuperSlim. Imo the PS3 Slim looks better but I've had one and was pretty unlucky with that (stopped working correctly after a few months after buying it used).
Changing thermal paste is a cheap thing to do, if this does not help then something else is messed up and should go to Sony for repair. I bought my PS3 super-slim (Uncharted 3 bundle) new. It gives off a lot of heat, especially when playing non-exclusive graphic-intensive games, like Skyrim or Black Flag.
The model numbers on the slim are on the back om a white sticker and the bottom on a black sticker. Anything 210x (can be 2101 2102. Just depends on region usa is 01) or above for slim which is 250x and 300x are much less likely to get ylod than the 200x as those share a lot of parts from the older fats that made them fail.
